About Me

It all started for me in the 6th grade when I was named editor of the school newspaper. I loved being a roving reporter around campus, doing interviews with staff and students, writing and editing my work, putting the layout together, and getting feedback from my classmates to make the publication better. You could say it was some serious foreshadowing of what was to come.

Later, I would major in English and Journalism at Seattle University, where I also worked as a student consultant in the SU Writing Center, my first professional job. There, I learned that all people have the potential for creative personal expression, but they often need the right support and coaching to unlock it.

Today, several years and quite a few workplaces later, I love what I do as a communications strategist who specializes in supporting fundraising campaigns, product and program publicity, and ethical storytelling. I have spent 15+ years in the humanitarian aid sector and additional years in the for-profit world. My experience has convinced me that fundraising and advocacy go hand in hand. I believe everyone is deserving of respect, and if you approach a person or organization with genuine interest, curiosity, and compassion, they will reveal amazing details and insights and grant you the privilege to share them.

I often remind myself that life is short, the world is wide, and that people everywhere are thirsty for positive news and stories. I don't want to miss a moment to be a conduit for truth, so I'm always open to new experiences, partnerships, and assignments.
